Jacob Saidian, President and Owner
Jacob received a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from San Jose State University in 1976 and began working as a civil engineer in the private sector, obtaining his civil engineering license in 1981. He has been responsible for the surveying and civil design of 450 projects including residential subdivisions, single family homes, luxury homes, commercial buildings, churches and temples such as Sikh Gurduara in East San Jose.
Jacob was a Resident Engineer for Caltrans for 30 years, responsible for the management and administration of the construction of numerous highway projects in the South Bay and the peninsula, each with budgets ranging from $5 million to $12 million dollars. These projects included:
- Widening route 101 between first street and San Mateo county line, and adding n auxiliary lane and sound wall
- Reconstructing highway 17 between Camden Ave and Scotts Valley which was severely damaged by 1989 Loma Prieta Earthquake
- Extending highway 85 from Cupertino to Saratoga
- Consructing the entire 237 corridor between 101 to 880, including the First Street bridge, Zanker Road Bridge , and McCarthy Bridge
- Constructing the Rengnstorff and highway 101 overcrowding bridge in Mountain View
- Constructing the Shoreline and highway 101 overcrowding bridge in Mountain View
- Constructing Weigh station on Route 101 in San Martin
- Constructing the Tully Road and Route 101 overcrowding bridge in San Jose
Jacob became a licensed general contractor in 1985 and established Advanced Development. He has been responsible for the construction of 75 residential single-family homes and townhomes. In 2009 he obtained his real estate broker’s license and has since sold 8 homes, including upscale residential homes.
